You may have considered wearing baseball hats for hair days that are less than perfect. Truth be told, the baseball cap is a great way to hide bad hair or a bald head. Eventually, of course, you have to take that hat off. But in the meantime, it can hide a multitude of sins – or what have you.
Once upon a time, people actually wore hats to prevent bedhead. Back in the Edwardian and Victorian era, this was not uncommon. They were referred to as night caps and were made of wool or cotton. Silk was used for some of the upper echelon's females.
Today, if you've got bedhead, you're just having a lousy hair day, or your hair is thinning to the point of being practically nonexistent, it's not uncommon to wear a hat. In addition to hiding bad hair or a balding scalp, it can be of assistance where protection against UV rays is concerned. That's important today, with the minds of so many people on skin cancer and sun blocks.
Hats, Hats, and More Hats!
Have you noticed that, more today than ever, tons and tons of people are wearing hats? What happened? Sure, people have always worn hats… but today, everybody's doing it! Part of the fascination with hats, particularly baseball style hats, is the fact that celebrities have been seen wearing them all over town. Some celebrities even wear them to what would be considered formal events.
Hey, if the rappers are doing it, it must be in keeping with today's fashions! Okay, more than just rappers are seen with baseball caps today. Both male and female celebrities from all genres are sporting baseball caps every time you turn around.
It's no wonder, really. They're just so perfect!
If you're having a bad hair day, or losing your hair, baseball caps aren't your only option, however. Here are some others.
Hats To Wear on a Bad Hair Day (Or a No Hair Day)

- Running cap (somewhat resembles a baseball cap)
- Straw hat (these are great, in part, because they pack well in luggage, gym bags, beach bags, etc.)
- Bucket hat
- Fisherman's Cap
- Beanie or slouch beanie
- Panama hat
- Newsboy or beret
